Who Pays? The costs of a wedding | Print |  E-mail
Traditionally the brides' family has been responsible for many of the wedding costs. But with the increasing costs and complexity of weddings, the costs are being separated differently on a case by case basis. Certain people aren't being given the duty of having to pay for certain things. Often the families now split the expenses, as well as other participants in the wedding paying their own way. The bride and groom now often pay for a share of the wedding themselves as well.

A way to recover some costs at the reception is to have the guests pay for drinks, and dances. Games may also be played to collect money, and having the bride kidnapped (so the happy couple can have a few moments of rest) then collecting ransom to get her back is another way.

The traditional split up costs are
